I will miss all my students!

Homework for June 1-3
(Last Homework of the year)

Tuesday:
  1. Write each spelling word 5x.
  2. Study the vocabulary words.
  3. Read the Decodable Book.
  4. Study the multiplication facts 0's, 2's, 5's, and 10's. There will be a test on them this Friday. They will be mixed up and out of order.
Wednesday:
  1. Read the story The Silly Sisters two times for reading fluency and do the reading paper that goes with it.
  2. Study the multiplication facts.
  3. Do the assigned math paper.
  4. Study the vocabulary words.
Thursday:
  1. Share the Religion paper with your parents.
  2. Read the Decodable Book.
  3. Take a spelling pretest and write any misspelled word 5x.
  4. Study the vocabulary and spelling words.
Notes: The second grade awards will be on Monday, June 7, at 8:30 a.m. in the classroom. All parents are welcome.

Ms. Randi has a cute Father's Day gift planned and we are asking for three dollars. Thank you!

Ms. Rina has a cute idea for Sports Day. She is collecting empty fruit or vegetable cans by this Friday. Two per child is fine but if you have extras, please send them in. The big cans work best but either will do.

Funfair shirts are okay to wear Tuesday-Thursday. Mass is on Friday so full uniform. Thanks for a great year!

Monday:

  4. Do the paper on pictographs.
Tuesday:
  1. Study your math facts.
  2. Read the science story about Rocks.
  3. Do the assigned math paper.
Wednesday:
  1. Bring in rocks for our science experiment.
  2. Study the vocabulary words.
  3. Study the Religion notes for Friday's test.
  4. Read the Decodable Book.
Thursday:
  1. Study the vocabulary words.
  2. Take a spelling pretest and write any misspelled word 5x.
  3. Study your math facts.
  4. Read the Decodable Book.
Notes: Mrs. Long says that it is okay for students to wear their Funfair shirts all this week. Tutoring has ended for the year. Have a great week!!!

Congratulations Communicants!

  1. Do the assigned math paper.
  2. Read the story Sand Castles.
  3. Share the Religion paper with your family.
Wednesday:
  1. Read the story Honey Bear two times for reading fluency.
  2. Share the social studies paper with your family.
  3. Do the assigned math paper.
Thursday:
  1. Do the paper on capitalization (You Name It).
  2. Take a spelling pretest and write any misspelled word 5x.
  3. Study the vocabulary words.
  4. Study your math facts.
Notes: Congratulations to our second group of communicants!!!! Also, congrats to all the second graders for leading the Mass last Friday. I am so proud to be your teacher!

Don't forget our Funfair performance from 11:00-11:20 a.m. this Sunday. I would like all my students to be in the second grade room no later than 10:40 a.m. Please be dressed in your attire and ready to perform. Boys, please bring your fedoras to school each day so we can practice. I have the sashes for the girls. Thanks a bunch.

Congratulations Communicants!

Homework for May 3rd-6th
Monday:
  1. Write each spelling word 5x.
  2. Read the Decodable Book.
  3. Study your math facts.
  4. Study the vocabulary words.
Tuesday:
  1. Do the math paper on fractions.
  2. Write a story using as many of the spelling and/or vocabulary words as possible. Please use correct capitalization and punctuation. The story should be at least half a page.
  3. Study your math facts.
  4. Read the story Sasha's Web two times to increase reading fluency.
Wednesday:
  1. Share the Cinco de Mayo paper with your family.
  2. Do the assigned math excel homework.
  3. Study the vocabulary words.
Thursday:
  1. Take a spelling pretest and write any misspelled word 5x.
  2. Share the Religion paper with your family.
  3. Study the math facts for tomorrow's test.
Notes: Congratulations to our first group of communicants!!! I am so proud of you! There is a practice meeting this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the church for those students making their First Communion this Saturday, May 8th.

I am so proud of all my second graders and the great job they did in making such awesome recyclebots. Thank you parents for assisting them.
