   Share the Religion paper with your family.

   Take a spelling pretest and write any misspelled word 5x.

Notes: There will be no Religion test this week. Also, Iowa testing starts the first week of October. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest and arrives to school on time that week. There is no make-up testing so please try to reschedule appointments for the afternoon. Testing takes place first thing in the morning.

Third Week of School

Homework for September 12-15

Monday: (Picture Day)

1. Write each spelling word 4x.
2. Study the addition facts (the paper went home on Back To School Night).
3. Go online to practice your vocabulary words (the student's code is enclosed).

Tuesday: (P.E. Day)

1. Read the science story on plant life cycles.
2. Do the phonics paper on short vowels.
3. Do excel math homework #4.

Wednesday:

1. Study the Religion notes for Friday's test.
2. Read the Decodable Book.
3. Take a spelling pretest and write any misspelled word 5x.
4. Practice your addition facts for Friday's test.

Thursday:

1. No homework because of the Skating Party. Have fun!!!

Second Week of School

Homework for September 6-8

Tuesday:

1. Write each spelling word 3 times.
2. Read the math story to your parents.
3. Share the Religion paper with your family.

Wednesday:

1. Read the Decodable Book.
2. Choose 6 of the spelling words and write a sentence for each one. Remember each sentence has to be at least 8 words long.
3. Do math pages 11-12.

Thursday:

1. Take a spelling pretest and write any misspelled word 5x.
2. Share the excel math parent letter with your parents and finish the rest of Lesson 3.

Dear Parents,

We will be having our first spelling test this Friday. Please help your child

practice the words. In addition to the ten regular spelling words, I also give two extra credit words. Please encourage your child to spell these words.

As for the homework, I make sure that your child has the work needed for that evening. I may send homework that will be worked on that day and not earlier. I like to go over the concepts with the students before I send the work home.

Starting next week, please sign any papers that have the stamp "Please Sign

and Return" on them. I like to make sure that parents have seen their student's

work.

Reminders: Back to School Night is Thursday, September 8th. It starts at

6:00 in the Hall. I hope to see all of you there! Picture Day is Monday, September

12th. Blue or white shirts are acceptable.
